We hosted the iconic frontman of You Am I, Tim Rogers in an intimate and fervent solo show in April 2022. Playing on a vintage, mobile caravan amongst the Tamborine Mountain rainforest whilst children were hip-hopping the stream was a visual & aural delight that is ingrained in many punters' memories.

Ben Barker
"This is how I close the gap ...through music story and connecting"... Ben is a descendant of the Biripi people of mid-north coast of NSW.. From a young age he has had a love of music ... and after being kicked out of home at 16 and working multiple jobs to keep his passion for perfoming live alive, he has achieved commercial success with major festivals , radio airplay, community events and live TV performances. Groovenote are honoured to have booked and hosted Ben and his original repertoire combining didgeridoo and guitar simultaneously, with a sound that unabashedly harks back to 90's grunge - seriously heavy and melodic - and gets the crowd locked into their seats for the full evening ride.

Who is Groovenote?
Hi I'm Pete. Thanks for stopping by. I'm a Sydney lad who pursued a tree change and relocated to Tamborine Mountain 6 years ago.
I'm a graduate of the Sydney Conservatorium of Music and have a Masters in Screen Music AFTRS. I also hold a Masters of Teaching (sec).
Having co-owned a local cafe on Tamborine Mountain and fostering a musical culture as part of it's offering, I set the tone by booking many varied bands and artists for twice weekly performances. This was incredibly well received by the community and surrounds.
I believe that the bond between real, musician made, live music and community is essential and necessary. If nurtured, it creates connection and builds a hugely invaluable cultural wealth that cannot be replicated otherwise. I look forward to continue to bring you more talented, diverse and quality music.
